30 Credits | Mandatory | Non-Compensatable
The project module contributes a quarter of the marks for your third year. It must be passed without compensation. That means you must score at least 40% for the module. If you don't submit anything for an assessment, you'll score zero for that piece of work. This can have a serious impact on your degree classification. Note that this module does not offer a summer resit. If you fail, you might be awarded a non-honours degree or offered the opportunity to repeat the module in the next academic year, which will impact your graduation date.
Much of your work on this module will be self-directed. If you have a problem keeping up with the pace of work, or you need regular meetings to keep you on track, it's up to you to make sure your supervisor knows about it. The sooner you make us aware of a problem, the sooner we can help you. Don't suffer in silence. If you are struggling, please let us know so we can support you. We expect students and supervisors to follow the project charter. If you're unhappy with the quality of supervision, the charter explains what to do.
Canvas & Communication
The project module uses Canvas for assessment submissions. All marks and feeback will be available via your project page on the e-Project System. Everything else you need to know is presented on this website.
All module communication will be via email, so please check your inbox at least once per day during the teaching period so you don't miss anything important. We strongly recommend you use email to contact your supervisor so it can be archived and searched in case you need to refer back to things later. Whilst most staff will be happy with a fairly informal email style, it's worth bearing in mind that email is not the same as instant messaging, so please try to explain your issue clearly.

Lectures
There are no lectures for this module. All the information you need can be found on this website. You are expected to demonstrate a certain amount of independence during your honours year. We will email you to remind you about important aspects of the module, particularly the ethical guidance and deadlines, but you are responsible for managing your own time, engaging with your supervisor, and carrying out your project.
