Abstract
Ad Hoc systems have always been a challenge for computer scientists and engineers. Nowadays only a small percentage of communication and computation is done in ad hoc manner, e.g., in p2p networks and systems. On the other hand, many futuristic concepts, such as Internet of Things, Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks, MANET or Nano-communication, are based on large-scale ad hoc systems, and thus require efficient and scalable distributed algorithms. In this talk I present selected challenges for dynamic ad hoc systems, imposed by environment and data dynamicity, failures, system requirements and performance measures.
