Abstract

This talk discusses the recent evolution of Digital Twin technologies in the automotive industry. We begin with an overview of Siemens Simcenter simulation and test solutions, highlighting how Industrial AI enhances their performance and engineering workflows. Next, I will present our recent research and development activities applying AI and Generative AI to integrate simulation and physical testing, accelerating performance optimization and the overall engineering development process. Finally, examples from autonomous driving, vehicle dynamics, and battery systems will demonstrate methodologies such as Real2Sim (transforming raw data into simulation models), Sim2Real (autocalibration of control algorithms from simulation to physical systems), and Agent-based workflow automation.

Biography

Dr. Son Tong is R&D ADAS, Digital Twin & AI Manager at Siemens Digital Industries Software, leading a team of research engineers and industrial PhDs. He has been facilitating technology developments in control, AI, and autonomous system V&V processes. The solutions often involve state of art algorithms, simulation and physical testing. Son Tong is active in coordinating Siemens R&D projects and supervision. He was awarded Siemens PL Invention of the Year Award and selected in the AutoSens most influential research award finalist.
