Aide de Camp

1. Overview

The Aide de Camp project was a SERC funded (GR/G/01355) HCI/CSCW project concerned with the provision of support for workflow orientated tasks and processes which involve cooperation between geographically displaced teams. A demonstration system was developed - the Aide de Camp system - which was supported by a cooperative filtering language (CFL) and a task scripting language (TSL) which allowed users to define their own "intelligent" agents. Both CFL and TSL set on top of an custom built email system, adcmail, which has a straight forward interface (written for X Windows) and offers a powerful message filtering capability. The adcmail software is available through international "ftp" from the Hewlett Packard Software Porting and Archive Centre For HP-UX maintained by the Department of Computer Science at the University of Liverpool.
