DESCRIPTION:Dr. Jeremy Singer: Liverpool's First Computer: the English Electric DEUCE\n\nBased on an original design by Alan Turing, the Digital\n\nElectronic Universal Computing Engine (DEUCE) was one of\n\nthe UK's earliest commercially available computers.\n\nThe University of Liverpool bought a DEUCE which was\n\noperational in 1960 - solving equations for seismologists,\n\ncrystallographers and aeronautical engineers.\n\n\n\nIn this talk, I will explain the design of the DEUCE and\n\ndescribe how to program it.
