DESCRIPTION:Dr Michael Kaisers: Strategies and mechanisms for competitive cooperation in Smart Grids applications\n\nTrading and negotiations are cooperative in the sense that value is only created if an agreement is reached, but competitive in how this value is shared between the parties. Doing well in such interactions requires a best response to an uncertain and dynamic environment. We address this need by designing algorithms that exploit a priori information and learn from experience. In addition, we propose alternative interaction mechanisms with more efficient outcomes. Specifically, our work aims to alleviate the challenges arising in the transition towards fluctuating renewable energy generation (esp. solar/wind) by efficiently balancing future Smart Grids.
