DESCRIPTION:Dr Jeyan Thiyagalingam: Scalable Computing: Challenges, Applications and Solutions\n\nThe technological advances in the computing landscape have\n\nchanged the way that we do science; we have become inseparably reliant on\n\nalgorithms, software and systems for doing our research. However, the\n\nchallenges we face in this space are well beyond simply synthesizing a\n\nsolution\n\nto our problem. One of the key issues is scalability which begs the\n\nquestion of\n\nhow do we render solutions which can reasonably scale across architectural\n\nand\n\ndata spaces. \n\n\n\n\n\nIn this talk we will overview some of the scalability\n\nchallenges we face, especially in the context of HPC and Big data\n\nprocessing,\n\nexemplified by problems from various domains of sciences and potential\n\nsolutions to those problems.\n\nhttps://www.csc.liv.ac.uk/research/seminars/abstract.php?id=368
