Work Information

I am Professor of e-Learning in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Liverpool, and Director of the University's e-LearningUnit. This Unit is responsible for overseeing a programme of degree courses delivered by distance learning over the Internet, that the University runs in partnership with Laureate Online Education of Amsterdam.

Research Interests and Activities

Knowledge Discovery in Databases

The main focus of this work has been on the development of new methods for deriving Association Rules from large, densely-populated databases. A summary is given here.

Online Learning

Work in this area includes analysis of dialogue in online classrooms.
