Me, myself and I

“I get a kick out of being an outsider constantly. It allows me to be creative. I don't like anything in the mainstream and they don't like me.” - Bill Hicks

Hello! I am a PhD student at the Computer Science Department based in the University of Liverpool under the supervision of Dr. Katie Atkinson and Prof. Trevor Bench-Capon. The research I produce is cross-disciplinary and takes into account research fields such as multi-agent systems, game theory, AI, biology,(social) psychology and the relationships between AI and law. Details of my publications can be found in the publications section of this site. In addition to this, I am very experienced in the use of the Netlogo programming language and can competently turn my hand to a number of web-page/database/software design programming languages.

I am also involved in demonstration work for various undergraduate modules in the department (for a list of past and present demonstrating duties, please see the teaching section of this site) as well as undertaking various training courses with the intention of becoming a lecturer in the future. I obtained my BSc in Internet Computing in 2009 with first class honours and was accepted for PhD study the same year. A list of my academic and non-academic achievements can be viewed by navigating to the achievements section of this site.

Furthermore, I was recently appointed as a language editor for the CEJCS, a journal of computer science which contains the latest news, achievements and research trends with respect to the full breadth of the computer science field. Due to contributing authors coming from all over Europe, language consistency is a problem and it is my responsibility to ensure the correctness and consistency of written English in submitted papers.

When I'm not working I enjoy socialising with friends, reading, keeping fit and music. I am a keen guitarist and enjoy both listening to and playing music. If you'd like to check out my playing please check out "They Speak In Swarms" and "925 Suicide Jive".

If you would like to contact me about anything at all (no salesmen) please do not hesitate to do so.
