Pastoral Area Working Group 2 - Minutes

Among items discussed at the PAWG 2 meeting held in Chaloner Hall on Wednesday 12 October 2011 were:

• Issues associated with the lack of men coming into the priesthood and the ultimate impact on Requiem Masses at St Austin's.
• Possible arrangements if the Benedictines were to pull out of St Austin's. This is NOT on the cards at present, but was discussed and one particular scenario was outlined.
• There seems to be few St Austin's School parents attending PAWG meetings. Their voice regarding the impact of an aging and reduced parish clergy, was therefore absent.
  This is clearly a cause for concern.
