Some of you may have noticed that accessing the website last weekend resulted in some inoffensive if bland music, and the notice "Hacked by Furty".
We've no idea who "Furty" is but luckily only one file was affected, and in particular no serious damage to the website has been detected - we were functioning properly again on Tuesday. As there are no confidential or private files stored on the website there was nothing much to steal - apart from a certain dignity, of course.
For those technically minded, it seems our ISP's cPanel was the target, not StAG per se. and because of regular Bulletin update, we were one of the sites affected early. I'm informed that that breach has been closed and so this should not be repeated.
My apologies for being "off air", and many thanks to the vigilant parishioner who rang Debbie to tell us of Furty's doings.
