| • | This is the 9.30 Mass reader rota that takes us to Pentecost 2012. There are approximately 3 readings for each adult in the period and we have tried to ensure that parents and children are together as far as possible. As ever, please check for the inevitable errors, and do let me know as soon as possible if there is any date, especially in the holiday period, that you've swapped with someone else. I will try to hand deliver a printed copy of this rota to all adult readers before Christmas, however, it will appear on the website as soon as possible. | |||||||||

| • | If you cannot make a date please telephone one of the others on the list and arrange a swap. If you could send me an email with the details of the swap, I'd be most grateful. | |||||||||
| • | Check that the microphone is switched on, then do the First Reading. The Bible on the lectern will be open at the correct place and should match the mass detailed in the "Mass to Read" column above and the listing in the Bulletin on the website - please check before the start of mass. There are sometimes small differences between that Bible and the readings in the Mass Sheets in the pews - it is better to read from the bible on the lectern. | |||||||||
| • | Stand down to allow a child to read the Responsorial Psalm (you may have to pull the stool out for them to stand on - to reach the microphone). When the Responsorial Psalm is finished return to the lectern for the Second Reading. | |||||||||
| • | After the Second Reading say "Please stand for the Gospel Acclamation". If the mass is not being sung then lead reading The Acclamation (the congregation should join in - but may not). If you are not sure about this please ask the priest before the start of mass. | |||||||||
| • | Occasionally, and during the holiday period, a child may not be present for the Responsorial Psalm and after the Sermon to read the Bidding Prayers and to lead saying the Hail Mary; in which case, please be prepared to return to the lectern to do these. The correct Responsorial Psalm is in the Bible ON the lectern between your two readings. A book with Bidding Prayers (for the Sunday) is open on the shelf IN the lectern - however, the response may not match the one pinned under the hymn number board. It is a good idea to check these before the start of mass, and with the priests. | |||||||||
