Degree Programmes
- We offer seven BSc Honours degrees including four specialist degrees, and one with a year in industry.
- We offer two programmes that include a foundation year at Carmel College.
- We have a new MEng in Computer Science, a four year programme with three undergraduate years and a research level year.
- We have two one year MSc programmes in Computer Science for those both with and without a computing degree.
- Our Single Honours BSc and MEng programmes are accredited by the British Computer Society.
Facilities
- The quality of learning opportunities within the department was endorsed by the teaching quality agency.
- We have four teaching laboratories furnished with high specification equipment (including a laboratory equipped with Macintosh computers and a robotics lab equipped with Lego Mindstorms NXT robots) and the latest software solely for the use of students in the Department.
- Our equipment and library provision are much praised by current students.
- From 2006 entry we have been housed in a completely refurbished building with state of the art facilities.
Teaching at the Leading Edge
- We carry out internationally recognised research (75% of which was rated 3* or 4* in the latest Research Assessment Exercise) which informs our teaching provision and keeps us up to date with new cutting edge technologies.
- We have good connections with industry who provide input to our teaching development, research collaborations and opportunities for student projects with industry.
Prospects
- More than 70% of our recent BSc graduates, whose destinations were known, were in employment, and more than 19% went on to further study.
