My degree from Liverpool has given me the best possible startclose quotes

Mark Edmond

Year of Graduation: 2006
Degree programme: BSc Computer Science (G400)
Experience at Liverpool: My degree from Liverpool has given me the best possible start from a technical point of view to be able cope in the business world.
Current employment: Application Consultant at Customer Systems Plc, Surrey UK
I am on the Siebel Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) consultant team at Customer Systems. (Siebel CRM is designed to help companies store, manage, and analyze customer information.). I'm sold out to other companies to give them expert advice and knowledge about the Siebel application. This includes designing and implementing technical solutions, and delivering training courses.
Since joining I have consulted for Novartis Pharmaceuticals US, the Healthcare Commission, and 3M Germany, working at the clients' sites, both independently and as part of a team of other consultants.
The 3M Germany project has been one of the most interesting projects as I have had to work on my own to implement a solution and design a major part of that solution. The work was focused around EAI (eBusiness Application Integration), a Siebel integration mechanism that uses XML as the data exchange. This has extra interest to me as my dissertation at the University of Liverpool was heavily involved with XML.

Marko Kozarevic

Year of Graduation: 2005
Degree programme studied: BSc Computer Information Systems (G500)
Experience at Liverpool: Studying at Liverpool provided enough diversity
and challenges for me to decide what I wanted to do in the next few years of my career, and the direction that I wanted to take as a graduate. The reputation of Liverpool University and its degree programmes facilitated a number of offers and positions.
Further qualifications since graduation from Liverpool: 2005-2006 MSc Bioinformatics at Imperial College London (interest sparked from Dr. Biktasheva's course in "Biology inspired algorithms")
Current employment: Trainee analyst programmer at JHC Plc - London, Main Office - Covent Garden, others in Birmingham and Newcastle.
JHC is a software development company that specialises for the banking sector, particularly in the outsourcing and securities industry. They provide software to wealth management companies (UBS, TD Waterhouse, Meryll Lynch, etc.), as well as brokerages of all sizes. There are two "departments", the Front Office and the Back Office. The Front Office deals with the interface that clients, fund managers, brokers, dealers, etc. can use to buy, sell, and view stocks and is implemented using Delphi and/or Java. The Back Office deals with data processing, computations, data outputs, settlements, etc. utilizing the Report Program Generator language (RPG).
I have been working at the UBS site for a few months, and will be working with them frequently as an analyst and performing a small amount of programming. I'm to be involved in Capital Gains Tax calculations, apparently one of the more difficult financial calculations as there is a lot of information to be gathered and processed. Lately I have developed programs for converting client information from one format to another, and have performed modifications to existing programs to add functionality the client needs to perform some specific function for them.

Matt Webster

Year of graduation: 2004
Degree program studied: BSc Computer Science (G400)
Experience at Liverpool: My degree gave me an excellent grounding in all aspects of computer science, both theoretical and practical, and therefore was the perfect preparation for a Ph.D. in computer science. In particular I found my Honours project very useful, as it let me get into academic research while I was still an undergraduate.
Current employment: I am an EPSRC funded Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Liverpool, and I also work for the University of Liverpool as a student demonstrator (tutor).
Any interesting projects you have been involved with:My current research interests are in the areas of computer virology and artificial life. I have submitted papers to international conferences in these areas and I have recently published a paper in the Journal in Computer Virology on a new means of detection of metamorphic computer viruses based on static and dynamic analysis and proofs of instruction sequence equivalence.
